PILATES FOR WOMEN OVER 50
Pilates (pronounced as puh-lah-teez) was invented by Joseph Hubertus Pilates, a German physical trainer for rehabilitation, and giving the body a new approach to exercise. This article will concentrate on Pilates for women over 50. Pilates is similar to yoga. These exercises concentrate on the body’s core areas like the obliques, lower back, buttocks, abdomen, inner and outer thighs. This form of exercise carries a lower risk of injury than others because it actually builds the areas of the body needed for other exercise:
– good posture
– muscular endurance
Instead of conducting the exercise until you actually feel the burning sensation of it, Pilates is quite different as it concentrates on participants having good form throughout the exercise session.
