Stretching Exercises (Videos)

As stated in an earlier article, “The Importance of Warming Up Before Exercise“, I discussed the benefits of warming up pre- and post workout sessions.  Muscles should be warmed up prior to working out because exercising cold muscles can be damaging to your body. A great way to warm up is through stretching.

Stretching does the following:
1) warms muscles
2) prepares muscles for the movements
3) prevents injuries

Stretching involves two different types – dynamic and static. Dynamic stretches are ideal to do pre-workout. With these stretches, a full range of motion is used instead of holding the stretch.
